Professionally, I am a software developer living in Dublin (Ireland). I graduated from NYU in 2010 with degrees in Computer Science and Russian. I then went to graduate school at Uniwersytet Jagielloński in Kraków, Poland, where I received an MA in Central and Eastern European Studies in 2012. Should one wish to read it, the tome otherwise known as my dissertation on coalition formation in the Ukrainian parliament from 2006-2012 can be found here. I speak Russian decently and Polish slightly less decently, have a smattering of Gaelic, and can read in Latin.
I’m currently working at Facebook, solving integrity problems.
Hi Jillian – We are related. I googled Brzoza Krolewska 1907 and found your blog. My grandmother was Agnieszka/Agnes Zygmunt (so many different spellings!) Markovich. When she came to the U.S., she went to her brother-in-law, Jan Kozyra, in St Clair, PA according to a passenger list entry. His wife was my grandmother’s sister, Sophie. I learned about my grandmother’s siblings through Lee (Emily) Dunn on ancestry.com. I sent your dad an email several months ago but didn’t hear back. Perhaps it was blocked because of the attachments. If you would like me to share the rather meager ancestry info I have, let me know. My email is [email protected] I am on FB as are my sister, Karen Lowry and two of my Markovich cousins – Roger Cyr, son of Rose Markovich, and Joan Roskos, daughter of Mary Markovich. Best regards, Jane Hollis
